File Search.

Sometimes finding a certain file in a huge amount of data (imagine you have hundreds of Gigabytes of stored data) may become frustrating and almost impossible to do. In this case you have two options: try and search the file with the Windows built-in file searcher or use a third party file search and management tool. If you choose the second option, you can opt for File Search.

Version 1.0.0.0 was the first to be reviewed by our team but at that point the application was overpriced and unpolished based on a ludicrous interface. Version 1.2.2.1 has its own installation wizard, comes with functional icons that are fully integrated into the overall design and with a better price of $19.95. File Search really looks now as a proper application.

Its search system is based on matching attributes such as file name, time of creation, time of modification, file size and file types. Based on file types you can search for text files, web files, audio files, video files, archive files, images files, etc. In this way you can search and manage a certain type of files in any desired location. I've mentioned the managing feature because with File Search you can also copy or remove any found file to any location on your hard drive.

Version 1.2.2.1 is a major update for File Search. The application was improved in so many aspects that compared with the previous version it looks and feels totally different. The interface now is very compact and intuitive featuring expandable buttons and a dynamic search bar. With the addition of the search function in compressed files, File Search remains one of the fastest search application. The results are shown almost instantly especially if you use the sort function. (download)
